The final event of the photo contest "World of my family" held by the Jewish Family Services took place in the walls of MEOD (Moscow Jewish Community House). 42 families - more than 100 kids and grown-ups attended award ceremony "Looking through family album" that announced the winners in 7 different nominations.
Hanukkah! Hag sameach!
Every Jewish communitiy in Moscow and Cenral Russia celebrated the festival of lights in its own unique and creative way, some organizaing several celebrations for different age and social groups. From a grand event "Hanukkah in Antarctic" in the Moscow JCC Nikitskaya to a heartwarming event for pre-school schildren in Ryazan, every Jewish organization marked this holiday symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness with something special. In Bryansk alone, 10 different Hanukkah events gathered more than 400 participants.

Historical / documentary exhibition “Jews in Moscow: history, culture, tradition” opened in the “Provianskiye Sklady” museum complex of Moscow. JDC acted as a main sponsor of the exhibition since it sees one of its major goals in preservation of historical memory of the Russian Jewish community and in promotion of this historical memory both among the Jewish community and among the general public.

Students of the young leadership course "Knafaim" succesfully presented their projects before a panel of experts. As a part of the course, every student had to develop and later launch her project that would serve to the benefit of Jewish community.

Children initiative department held a 3-day seminar for professionals working with children and families in Moscow and Central Russia. 23 participants of Jewish charitable organizations and services took part in the seminar on success evaluation in the work with children and families at risk.

The second seminar of the “Memory Preservation” project was held in Hesed Yad Ezra on November 7 through 9. The project aims to prevent, reduce or delay Alzheimer’s disease or dementia in elderly patients of Jewish welfare centers.
