Active today in more than 70 countries, JDC comes to rescue to Jews overseas and supports Jewish communities in more than 70 countries. It saves Jewish lives, brings relief to Jews in need and reconnects Jews with their nation, traditions and culture. JDC opens soup-kitchens in Argentine, sponsors Jewish schools in Morocco, ensures survival for the impoverished elderly of the former Soviet Union and fosters reconstruction of Jewish communities of Eastern Europe.
With global vision and scope, JDC possesses unique capacity and infrastructure to act locally with top efficiency. Its strong structure in the field, its deep understanding of local issues and its approach of cherishing every human life are the qualities that make JDC a trusted partner of Jewish communities around the world.
In 1986 launched its International Development Program that embodies the Jewish principle of tikkun olam, the desire and responsibility to help repair the world. Working in partnership with international aid agencies and local governments JDC offers aid to the victims of natural and man-made disasters, providing not only immediate relief but also long-term support that contributes to recovery process.
